About Wazinator Australia

Wazinator Australia started in 2007 as a single hand made product. Made at home in batches of 7. The batches quickly moved to 14, 21, 35. Now the the Wazinator Classic KSB319 are made in batches of 105. The shed we rent is in Yegan, just opposite the Splendour In the Grass site.

In May 2007 I began experimenting with stompbox designs. I was working in the local music shop, Byron Music, at the time. I was surprised at the number of customers requesting to buy an acoustic stompbox. The range at the time was very limited and in my opinion over priced. I was motivated to design the best sounding stompbox at an affordable price.

I've always played music, usually as a singer songwriter and music producer. I studied contemporary music composition (Arts Degree) at Southern Cross University as well as having a previous Science degree. Neither of these degrees were of direct relevance to running Wazinator but maybe they assisted in skills of turning ideas into reality.

The Classic product is still made by hand with imported electronics and components. The Wazinator Dropkick was launched at NAMM in 2016. I shared a booth with Cole Clark guitars for the 3rd time. This year we were in the more prestigious hall C, upstairs. The Dropkick is a aluminum diecast build with the components coming from Taiwan, China, Japan and Australia. The timber is Australian and is prepared by hand to be fixed to each unit.
